Harvard University’s Glass Flowers Collection – Orchid, Iris, Lilies & More

Finally got around to going through my 4th group of Harvard University’s Glass flowers photos. It was challenging as there were so many beautiful specimens. Below are the ones I selected to publish. When viewing photos, keep in mind all the models are made from glass.

Incredible. Such detail and so life-like. If I didn’t know they were glass I would have thought they were real!

  2. Kristy says:

I can’t believe those are all glass Norma! That is incredible. What a lovely post for today. It’s nice to have thoughts of spring/summer and flowers on a below zero day. I hope you’re staying warm and toasty this winter! Thank you for brightening my morning.

  3. Once again, I’m stunned that these are made from glass…so very beautiful. Are the leaves and roots all made of glass, too, Norma?

    • Norma Chang says:

      Hello Betsy,
Yes, the leaves and roots are all made of glass. When I saw that particular model in the display case I told my daughter she had to take a photo, glad it came out good.

  4. Amazing! Still can’t believe they are made from glass.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Angie

  5. Kim says:

It is really hard to believe it is all glass isn’t it?
Thanks for sharing these pictures, I have always wanted to see these in person and I think this is as close as I am going to get to them.

    Happy Gardening

  6. Amazing! Hard to believe this is made of glass. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  7. Norma, thank you for publishing more of these for us! Even though I know they’re glass, the eyes still won’t believe it! They’re stunning!

  8. Hotly Spiced says:

Kathy did a great job of the photos. The flowers are beautiful and I’m glad you told me they’re made of glass or I would never have guessed. So much skill and talent in these xx

  9. Stoney Acres says:

  12. This definitely brought a smile to my face this morning, a bright spot on this cold day! I kept thinking “no, now this is my favorite.. no this one..” but why choose? I loved them all and am so impressed that such delicate work can be made with glass. It’s so realistic! xx

    • Norma Chang says:

      Hello Barbara,
So glad the glass flowers brought a smile to your face. I had a very difficult time trying to decide which ones to post. Someday I may revisit the ones I did not select and do another post.

  13. Karen says:

It is an incredible collection…I’m so glad you have been sharing it with us.

  14. Pat says:

They are beautiful Norma! I miss the garden so much.

  15. So beautiful and realistic, at a glance they look like they are real. Now that is my kind of flower upkeep. No watering, no fertilising, “Boys be careful playing soccer around mom’s glass flowers.” On second thought, these flowers look perfect under glass in the Harvard University display. Thanks for the great post!

    • Norma Chang says:

      Hello Bam,
I had fun putting the post together especially since we are experiencing a very snowy and frigid winter, 8-12 inches predicted for tonight into tomorrow on top of what is still hanging around on the roof and the grounds.

  16. mac says:

Beautiful art work, thanks for sharing.

  17. Norma, what a beautiful collection! I couldn’t stop gasping about each detail! Incredible work! Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.
